As promised, here is a selection of pictures from my first photo shoot. My pastor’s family is a beautiful family, and their two little girls are so photogenic . . . always on the move, but photogenic nonetheless. I’m going to number them, and your mission (if you want to give me a helping hand), is to choose your top 3. Or top 1. Or top 5. Top anything should work. I figure if I can get a sense for what people like the most, I can center my energies on those shots, compositions, and Photoshop techniques during my next session. If you hate them all, please create a small poem in code that only I can interpret. Happy choosing!

I like 8 and 14 the best. But it really doesnt matter what I think, it matters what your clients think! I always find it interesting to see which of my favorites (if any) the client chooses. 🙂
Omg! I tried picking a top 3, then tried picking a top 5, but then it got to the top 12 and I decided to stop. You caught some good moments, I’m afraid a see merits in way too many pictures to narrow it down to 3. Some of the harsher shadows are unfortunate, but your choice of coloring helped make them a better part of the picture.
Here’s my list of favorites until I decided it was time to stop choosing (because I liked all the last ones): 1, 3, 7, 9, 16, 18, 19, 23, 24, 25, 28, 29…and so on.
Mmm–I agree about the unfortunate harsh shadows . . .especially on #16, which is a great moment but not a great picture. Must learn how to work with the light better . . .
This is not an easy task here! I scrolled up and down the post a dozen times trying to pick top 3 and couldn’t do it, but only left with crossed eyes trying. Great photos, great looking family!
#2: careful with “buildings falling over” shots… the angled effect can be nice, but it is easily overused, or in this case creates a disconcerting atmosphere
#6: I really like this “whole family” shot alot, but the bluish flesh tones don’t quite make it… should be easy to color-correct into an amazing family portrait; the youngest in the pink could be cropped into a most amazing single portrait…her expression is wonderful!
#14: another great one of the youngest! It seems just the tiniest overexposed, nothing a little photo-shopping can’t solve… same with #17:great Daddy-Daughter pose, but a little light
#18: love the composition, but the odd color throws me off…
#23-28 are just delightful!!
#32: great composition except for the lightness of the rock in the background that distracts from the beautiful interaction between the girls. Try darkening it and reducing its presence and watch the girls “pop”
#33 & 34 are beeyootiful!

Thanks Mom!! I appreciate the detailed feedback (really). I completely agree, especially about the lightness of that rock . . . I didn’t even notice that until you pointed it out, but darkening it would improve the shot tremendously. Looks like it’s back to Photoshop for me . . . but only after I process all of the wedding pix since those are top priority. =)
ooops!! Forgot to say which are my “tops”:
28 and 34, for the softness of the look that so fits the softness of the little girls, and their expressions that make you want to get into the picture and experience whatever they are seeing and doing and thinking and feeling!!!
wow these are all so lovely, Jenna. My favorites are #1, #10 (I love backlight photos!!), #26 (that expression is unbelievable), and #31. I love them all, though! No doubt if I ever need a photo shoot, you will be my #1 go-to person 🙂
wow. as many have said, I can hardly choose a favorite. I love how varied the “flavor” is of the different photos.

Oh. My. Word. These are lovely. I am smitten with far too many to choose. As a momma, I find 18 priceless. As a wife, 5 is touching. You’ve captured so many moments showing different parts of the girls’ personalities – they’re sweet, shy, sassy, loving, trusting and goofy!
On a side note, I’m thinking the Livingstons would love to be your next photo shoot. (At least Momma L. would!)
Awesome photography! My favorites were 3, 8, 18, 20, 23, 24, 31, and 32.. A lot! lol I tend to go for high-contrast photos, though. I think if you cropped 23 so the subjects and their embrace was the center of the photo, it would be a stronger moment. (Although, having them off to the right makes it seem like a more candid moment).

#4, #7, and #18 were my top 3. Great work. I’d love to be able to take photos like that someday!
