Many of you have followed patiently along as I rambled about my performances in the past year with my friend and singer/songwriter Carrie and her husband Eric. Well, what started as a little shindig doing back-up vocals for her has evolved. We are coming together as a true unit, and somewhere along the way we went from being three people who happened to be doing some songs together to being a band.
One thing that I love about our band is that all three of us are songwriters and contributors of music. This makes for a fun and interesting array of numbers–though we hope to have a cohesive style, the different music we all bring to the table adds a fun twist.
So with all that said, I’m thrilled to announce our brand-spankin’ new band name: Thornfield.
Note: Please feel welcome to throw confetti, unfurl party streamers, and don a silly pointed hat at this juncture.
Today I am shutting up already, and simply sharing our new website with all y’all. You can find our schedule of gigs/live performances, video and audio recordings of some of our performances, pictures, etc. On that note, anyone who’s in town this Saturday: we’re performing at 7pm at our regular CityGrounds gig in Lincoln Park. Be there or be a crankybutt.*
*Just kidding. No one’s a crankybutt. Everyone is lovely, I love the world, the sun shines when you smile, etc. etc.
If you can’t make it to our gig but want to hear a little of our sound, please listen to the fabulous song “Dinosaur” written by Eric and performed by the 3 of us. It’s one of my faves.
Cheerio, McFeerio!
Woohoo! Now come down here and help me clean up this confetti. 🙂
congrats! fun name! 🙂
It’s all awesome, Jenna! Love the name and love the music. “Winter’s Ashes” is my favorite so far. “Sparrows” is really lovely, too. You guys sound great together…as if you’ve been singing together your whole lives. That’s quite remarkable. I think you’re going to go far, and I can’t wait to see what you do next!
Carrie wrote Winter’s Ashes last fall and it’s just gorgeous, I agree. I’m so glad you liked it!
I seriously love that pic! Congrats on the name and the coming together of a band!
Yay Thornfield! Love the name. My mom, sis and I may make it to Chi-town next October. If I can pull all of us away from shopping, we’ll mosey on over to Lincoln Park. I heard they had some great music
gigs over there. =)
Ooooh, who knows, maybe we will happen to be performing the weekend you’re here . . . that would be awesome.
You guys must be fans of Jane Eyre! I had to crack up at the “review” by Mr. Rochester. Bwah! Very cool, I love the website!
Hahaha! I’m so glad you found our ‘little joke’–we were wondering if anyone would see it. =)
Sounds like so much fun! Love the photo of you all! 🙂
Great music and website! Congratulations! (Hope wearing cobalt and aqua plaid pajamas at this time of day counts as party garb. Woohoo!)
~ Kim (aka Kimby)
Jenna! How seriously cool. I’m headed off to devour your tunes, but you should know that you give me more goosebumps than Mr. Rochester.
